RECRUITMENT

Our service is only as good as our team and here at What's Out There, we are totally committed to providing an excellent service in a safe environment.  Rigorous checks, including DBS checks, career and character references are verified.  Prior to any offer of employment, potential applicants are put through an intensive interview programme to assess suitability.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!

It is vital your application form is completed correctly.  Failure to complete your application form correctly will result in your application being automatically rejected.  This includes making statements on your application form such as "refer to enclosed CV".​  Please take extra care!!!

THE PROCESS

If you've completed your application form correctly, we will contact you within 10 working days.  If you haven't heard from us it's because we haven't selected you for the next stage.  If you are successful, you will be invited to an individual interview.  If successful at the interview, you will be invited to the final stage of the recruitment process: a group interview to put all your skills to the test.

TRAINING

All team members are expected to complete a comprehensive induction training programme within their 6 month probationary period, which includes, Food Hygiene, Fire Safety, First Aid, Safe Medication, Safeguarding, Children & Young People's Workforce Induction Standards Training and Positive Handling to name but a few.  All team members will have completed or will be in the process of completing their Level 3 Diploma For Residential Childcare (England) and Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management For Residential Childcare (England) for all Registered Managers.

 

If we are working with a young person with specific needs, we will bring in professionals to support the team in order to enhance their knowledge and experience for example self-harm, LGBT+

 

Staff development and training is a key focus of investment at What's Out There.
